The "LA" Bantams

Los Angeles - 1940 - 1941

In no way connected to Bantam Books, New York. A failed experiment to distribute books using vending machines, the LA Bantams were slightly smaller than other paperbacks, but were very square. Some of the reprints had pictorial covers, and some later books were laminated, the first use of lamination on paperbacks. But the process was not well done, and laminated books in good condition are exceedingly scarce.
